Where information becomes knowledge...

I have been using Parallels for over a week and Parallels performs much better than VirtualBox. I have not had any issues with crashing, USB connections, sharing files, and Windows 7 Aero works just fine. I loved the way that Parallels converted my VirtualBox image and ran the converted images without any issues.

This morning, I quickly installed Parallels for Mac OS X. After the installation completed, I pointed Parallels at my VirtualBox drive image and Parallels converted it to a Parallels disk image. The conversion took over an hour, but it was well worth it. Everything converted over without a problem. I just logged into the Windows environment and I was right where I left off in the VirtualBox environment. I did notice right off the Aero effects worked where they did not work in Virtu

I have been using my Macbook Pro for over a week now with my work environment within VirtualBox. I am getting used to the environment, but still messing up some of the key sequences for copy and paste. VirtualBox is running ok, it has locked up on me several times, but not enough to make me switch to another virtualization piece of software.

I have my Macbook Pro upgraded and I created a virtualized Windows 7 environment in VirtualBox. I chose VirtualBox for two reasons; first, I have used VirtualBox and I have found VirtualBox runs very well, and two, VirtualBox is free, I like the idea of virtualizing my work environment on my MacBook Pro, but I also want to be sure it is a workable solution.

This week, I completed upgrading my Macbook Pro with a new faster hard drive and more RAM. I was utterly surprised with how simple the entire process was with my Mac - ok, taking apart the case - small screws which were glued in, big fingers, and the fear of scratching the case or stripping a screw made the process of opening my Mac interesting, but beyond that, the process was very easy. Open the case, pop in the new hard drive and memory and close the case.
