I have been a progammer ever since I touched a computer. On the first TRS-80, I learned BASIC. I taught myself most of the language back in high school and that got me interested learning Computer Science when I went onto University.

A friend of mine built a website called SafeTzone! It is a great site with a lot of information on keeping you children safe on the Internet. Check it out!

Recently, I got an iTouch. I have had an 80 Gig iPod for a few years and love listening to podcasts all the time; working out, driving, and riding the train. So, when I had the chance to get an iTouch, I thought what the heck. I got the iTouch as part of a promotion for a course I was taking. I had the option to get an iPod or an iTouch, so I took the latter.

Sometimes you just have to realize that you make mistakes and the software is doing what I told it, even if I want to believe it is a bug!
I have been playing with Zabbix and starting to like it after figuring out how to configure it. Yesterday, I spent the day playing with actions, which are a way to alert me if something has happened that I need to know about. I had created a rule if ping failed and nothing had failed, so I created an "informational" trigger to notify me if somebody was logged into a server.

I started playing with Zabbix. After many false starts, mainly because I like to just press enter without reading everything, I got Zabbix installed on my Ubuntu server. Zabbix is very different from Nagios, which I have been using for years, and it took me a few hours to figure out how to simply ping something within Zabbix.
